Tour of Lysá nad Labem

A good starting point for a sightseeing tour of Lysá nad Labem is Hus Square, where you can park. From here we continue to B. Hrozný Square, which has a rather park character. There is a monument to the fallen in World War I, the defunct church of St. John the Baptist (floor plan) and the Statue of the Virgin Mary Immaculate

From the square you can see one of the biggest landmarks of the city – the Church of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist

Opposite the church is the Elbe Museum. There is a permanent exhibition Life and Work of Bedřich Hrozný,

We climb slowly and the rear view of the church opens up to us. You will definitely be interested in the many statues that are on the walls around the church

We climb the quiet Zámecká street, along the wall bordering the chateau park

Finally we go through the gate and the first view of the castle opens up to us

But first we will see the Augustinian monastery, which looks completely different from the north than from the south from the wine terraces

We bypass the monastery building to get to the terraces, from where there is a view of Lysá nad Labem and the flat landscape of the Elbe.

The monastery terraces are not only about the view, but also about beautiful flower beds with flowering plants and vines.

We go all the way down to the lowest terrace from where the most interesting view of the monastery is

The castle park in Lysá nad Labem is by far the most beautiful part of this town, so it pays not to hurry anywhere and enjoy it here.

We leave the park through the eastern gate and take Komenského Street back to B. Hrozného Square, where the circuit is slowly closing.
