Swimming in Bimmah Sinkhole

The very arrival to the lake is worth it. Directly opposite you rises the arid Hajar Mountains with peaks over 1,500 meters above sea level and only 7 km from the sea as the crow flies. The turn to the lake is from the old road, so make sure you get off the highway in time.

The lake is located inside the fenced park Hawiyat Najm Park. The greenery in the otherwise desert landscape is here only thanks to the massive irrigation. Admission is not paid here, but there is an opening time from 9 am. We arrived early in the morning, but the guard let us in safely and we had everything just to ourselves – great :-)

There is a scenic path around the whole lake. The whole thing is much bigger than it looks at first glance

The water in the pond is refreshing and absolutely clear – the greatest depth is over twenty meters

After crossing the lake, you can climb a rope on a natural jump and jump nicely

If you stop at the shore for a while you can indulge in a fish pedicure thanks to the fish Garra rufa (Red-brown Gara)
