Between the bays of Cala Mesquida and Cala Ratjada there is a network of multi-colored marked paths, from which you can choose according to the difficulty of ascent and descent. In summer, the area is frequented by tourists and the surrounding beaches are under siege by lovers of the sun and the sea. But out of season there is an amazing calm.

Cala Agulla

By car we get to a large and off-season empty parking lot near the sandy beach of Agulla. We go north through the woods along the coast to the neighboring bay.

Cala Moltó

Another beach is much smaller and ends with a rocky shore. From here we set out on a forest path, following the same direction and rippling along the coast.

Forest

We are not protected from the destructive effects of the sun (as stated in one advertisement) by the protective factor of the respective product, but by the dense growth of pine trees and other vegetation.

Exit

We leave an easy wide path and begin to climb a narrow path, sometimes completely lost in vegetation and rocky terrain. Little rock men are a reliable navigator. Interesting views of the east coast are beginning to emerge.

Cala Mesquida

Finally we reach the ridge, from which opens a view of the north coast of the island to Cape Formentor.

On the ridge, we turn right to our goal, another tower of the old defense system. From a height of 271 m there is a beautiful circular view.

We return back in a slightly easier way and start the descent up to about 200 meters from the tower on an alternative path. The whole area is interwoven with color markings according to varying degrees of difficulty. However, we made the previous steep ascent along an unmarked footpath.

Cala Agulla

After returning to the sea, it is possible to walk along the beach to the city. Cafe Cortado is great here too.
