The Nigardsbreen glacier slide is part of the largest continental glacier in Europe, the Jostedalsbreen. The hike from the parking lot to the glacier is very low and takes about 2 hours, even with frequent breaks for photography.

The first view of the glacier

The hike starts in the parking lot, from which, in addition to walking, you can get very close to the glacier and on a boat, which runs about every 15 to 30 minutes.

Glacier melting

Although the views of the floating pieces of ice are very nice, they mean that the glacier is getting smaller and smaller, at this time it is about 5 meters a year.

Nearest to the glacier

The last place to get in case of this short walk, but you can pay extra for a hike directly to the glacier and walk directly on the glacier.
