In the northern neighborhood of Gotland is the island of Fårö. Although it is about 20 km long and offers a lot of interesting things to see, the most beautiful can be easily reached by car in one day. And because it is separated from Gotland only by a shallow strait, which crosses the ferry in 10 minutes, you can also go here for a turn. The opposite strategy was chosen by the prominent director, writer and playwright Ingmar Bergman, who chose this place to live and shoot many films.

Ferry

You will not get to the island other than by ferry (the ferry is a bit flashy sign). It departs from Fårösund at the northern end of Gotland and the ship runs as a shuttle every half hour.

Church
