Behind the tallest trees on Earth

Redwood National and State Parks (abbreviation RNSP) is a group of four parks in Northern California in the United States. The monument consists of Redwood National Park and Del Norte Coast, Jedediah Smith and Prairie Creek State Parks. The whole reservation consists of a total of 542 km2. The park is home to 45% of the evergreen redwood (Sequoia sempervirens), the tallest tree on Earth. However, the park is not only forests, but also a number of inhabitants from the animal kingdom, grassy prairies, cultural centers, parts of rivers and other streams. Patk was founded in 1968 and until then 90% of the forest was harvested here. Before we reach the first planned stop, we stop at Elk Meadow Cabisns, where we saw the first deer and ropes from the name. They watched the deer chasing its ladies to keep them from wandering around. We watched this from a distance of 30 meters. It was amazing to get close to the game like that. It wasn't until later that we found out that American game wasn't shy, and during our travels, I got very close to the game. We leave and stop in Prairie Creek in a moment. Founded in 1923, Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park covered 0.65 km2. To date, it has an area of 57 km2. There are many redwoods that reach a height of over 90 meters. We visited and saw one. It is called Big Tree with a height of 92.6 meters, a diameter of 6.6 meters, a circumference of 20.7 meters and an estimated age of 1500 years. It really is an impressive tree and its dominance can be seen from the parking lot. It exceeds the other trees by at least a third of its height. We didn't stay here long and drove on. We're driving through Redwood, and it's unbelievable. There are unreal trees everywhere. We drive through such a landscape for about an hour and we can really use the phrase: „Like from another world.“ It is difficult to describe something that is not at home and only when one sees it can be amazed. I felt like an ant. We stop at Jedediah Smith in Redwood State Park. Named after the researcher of the same name, who was the first American to travel by land, from the Mississippi River to California in 1826, he walks through the space of the future park. This park was founded in 1939. Today the area of the park is 42.2 km2. We do a hike here. Even fallen trees are taller than me. Incredibly. Even ferns grow here to incredible proportions. They're almost as tall as me. It has a huge charm. I really felt like I was in a dream when I got smaller. I felt that way. What a tree, what a capital tree. We really enjoyed it here. In the Infocentre it is then possible to buy seedlings that seed these trees.

Deer and doe, like at home

In Elk Meadow Cabisns (Log cabins on a deer meadow), really both from the name of this village or the reservation on the edge of Redwood NP Here the deer chased its females.

Big Tree

A really huge tree, which almost reached a height of 93 meters and a diameter of 6.6 meters. I've never seen a bigger tree.

I call this a refutation

There are also upheavals in the park. I served as a yardstick. Reversal of the size of a small house.

Giant tumor

There are trees like ours that have tumors, but these have really giant tumors that can weigh several tons.

A forest like from another world

I came here really miniature. It is difficult to describe something that must be experienced in order for the other to understand

Other plants also reach large dimensions

I also got ferns that were as tall as me.

Bypassing such a tree is an experience

Going around such huge trees is a real experience.

Among the giants

I can recommend visiting the park. These trees will leave one of the greatest experiences of the western United States
