Just before the beginning of Špindlerův Mlýn, you will be enchanted by the dam set in a really picturesque landscape. The Elbe Dam is the highest dam on the Elbe, used mainly to catch water from the spring thaw. You can make a short stop here before some nice Krkonoše hike

View from the parking lot

Directly at the dam is a small parking lot (free, for 15–20 cars), from where you can go on a tour of the dam. From the parking lot you have the first views of the dam

Dam

Just connect a few meters next door and you already have a view of the dam. The dam itself is quite impressive, rising more than 40 meters above the bottom of the valley

Elbe flowing from the dam

The Elbe emerges from the dam perhaps up to 50 meters. Not far from you are stretched ropes, the so-called bridging of the Elbe, the local adrenaline attractions

View of the dam

The main reason to stop here and take a walk along the crown of the dam is the view of the lake with Medvědín in the background

The most beautiful in autumn

It is most beautiful here, of course, in autumn, when a nice sunny day comes out

The most picturesque view

The most picturesque view is including the house No. 92, which is built in a beautiful location directly above the dam

On the other side of the dam it is less than 200 meters

Walk to the lookout

Along the eastern part of the dam there is a green tourist route connecting Špindlerův Mlýn with Strážný (Via Krásná Pláň). We will follow it a few tens of meters to the next viewpoint. In front of us is the local iconic building and the rock next door

Water runoff during floods

In case of extreme water level on the dam, there is another water overflow, which drains the water behind the dam dam

View of the dam from the other side

On the other hand, there is a nice view, although of course it does not have one directly from the dam.
