Rock castle above Malá Skála
One of the biggest attractions of Maloskalsko is the rock castle Frýdštejn. On the sandstone massif, with many rock centuries, a huge castle tower has been preserved to this day, from the top of which there is a beautiful view not only of the Jizera canyon deep below you.
Under the castle Frýdštejn
The first view of the castle is worth it. on a massive sandstone rock, as otherwise in the Bohemian Paradise, stands a massive castle tower. From here you ascend the stairs to the castle gate (entrance + opening hours)

After passing through the gate you will reach a small „courtyard“. The sandstone massif is heavily excavated and there are a number of rock „flats“

View of the Jizera canyon
The best view from the castle is to the Jizera canyon. The huge peak of Kozákov and in front of it Sokol can be seen on the horizon. Deep below you is Malá Skála.
View of Bezděz and Kokořínsko
Through the cottages of the village Frýdštejn you can see the huge Bezděz on the horizon and even further the hills of the Kokořín region.
View of the Lusatian Mountains
To the west, the hills of the Lusatian Mountains with a well-recognizable Klíč can be seen in the distance.

From the top of the tower it can be seen that the castle is really built in height. The width had to adapt to the sloping massif.
At the foot of Frýdštejn Castle
After a tour of the tower, you can go to the bottom of the castle. There are a number of other rock apartments and a nice view of the rest of the castle fortifications.
Chapel in Frýdštejn
If you want to have the most famous view of the castle, you must take a small road to the village of Frýdštejn. There is also a small chapel.

Follow the red hiking trail in a southerly direction and run past the last cottage onto a meadow with a beautiful view of the castle
