Indian Karakoram is probably the most harsh part of the whole of India even though, or because it is the longest Karakoram glacier – Siachen, which is 76km long. This place is infamous with the battles of Pakistani and Indian border guards. On the other hand, there are large territorial disputes, this time with China, which has occupied the vast, vacant territory of Aksai Chin. For this reason, a large part of this beautiful area located in the Nubra and Shyok River basins is closed for tourists
