Esztergom is a historic Hungarian town located essentially directly on the border with Slovakia. Only the mighty Danube River separates them. At one time it was even the capital of the entire Kingdom of Hungary. The main monument of the city is undoubtedly the monumental Cathedral of the Virgin Mary and St. Audrey. Next to the cathedral you will find the city castle. The historic center of the city is now the slightly deserted Széchenyi Square with the picturesque town hall.
