The Baroque pilgrimage church of St. John the Baptist stood south of the village of Kočov in the Tachov region. It used to be a popular destination for religious processions, only a torso has been preserved. The ruins of a huge church have been protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic since 1992. As part of the Josephine reforms, the church was closed in 1781. In 1832, his demolition was ordered. For about 13 years, the reconstruction of the porcelain factory was able to avert it, while the original windows were walled up. You may also know the church from the fairy tale From the Hell of Happiness 2.
