In one of the North Cascades valleys is the still-living western town of Winthrop. It has over 400 inhabitants. The first inhabitants were hunters and fishermen, but when gold was found here, it gave rise to the town. Today, the town is known and popular for its buildings based on the model of the Wild West. And it really works.

I am located in the North Cascades and in one of these valleys we descend to the western town, which is still alive and is named Winthrop. It has over 400 inhabitants. The first inhabitants were hunters and fishermen, but when gold was found here, it gave rise to the town. Today, the town is known and popular for its buildings based on the model of the Wild West. And it really works. People stop here and walk through the town. We came across a girl from Bohemia who was here on a part-time job, so we had the opportunity to talk to her. In addition to saloons and shops, there is also a brewery, a gas station and even a mall that is further away, it is built in the same spirit. I didn't believe a bit that I would meet a western town in the north. I rather believed that somewhere in the south in Arizona or Utah.
