Almost at the very northern end of the island Milos is a beautiful bay with adjoining picturesque fishing village. It is an ideal place for those who like to swim in calm water without waves and kayakers. Moreover, you can enjoy here a short walk to the pretty village with only a few houses and white church.

Bay Firopotamos

You can get to the bay Firopotamos either along relatively wide (considering local roads) asphalt road leading to the quarry at the northern end of the island and bypassing dense housing of town Triovasalos, or along a narrow small road leading not only to Firopotamos, but also to another tiny backwater beach Plathiena.

This bay will amaze you already on arrival. Thanks to its calm water is ideal for families with small children, swimmers and kayakers.

The beach Firopotamos

The beach itself is about 100 meters long. There is a small snack bar with sun loungers and beach umbrellas. But most of the beach is free. At the end of the reef are a few summer houses.

The village Firopotamos

Apart from swimming and sunbathing, you can also have a short walk to the village with fishermen's houses called “wires”, which are so typical for Milos.

Of course, a small church is a must here.

Steep cliff

On the western side of the bay is more than a kilometer long reef. A favorite place for kayak cruises.

Amazing view of Firopotamos

If you still want to have an amazing view of the whole bay, you shall continue driving along the road in the direction to the quarry. The asphalt is quickly becoming gravel, fortunately, often sprinkled by tanks. Just be careful, there is bustle of trucks here.

Detailed view of the bay

If you look very carefully, you can also see the small quarry just behind the village.

The outlook on a cliff

From the outlook you can also see plenty of stones at the bottom of the sea that fell here from this massive cliff.
