While walking around Thamel it is definitely recommended to stop at a small square literally filled with Stupa Kathesimbu. It looks like a small copy of famous Nepalese stupa Boudhanat. But compared with Boudhanat, no admission is paid here and tourists come here mostly only by coincidence. There is also a Buddhist temple, so you can undertake a short tour here.

Buddhist temple

The half-forgotten square with a pretty Stupa Kathesimbu is located just a few meters from the busy street Chandraman Singh Marg connecting Thamel with Durbar Square. From the surrounding shops resounds Buddhist music and right at the entrance is also a nice temple.

Kathesimbu stupa

Virtually the entire square is filled by gigantic beautifully decorated stupa with, for Nepal typical, eyes.

Small sacral buildings

Around the stupa are dozens of other stupas and small temples. It is worth to stop here for a moment, listen to music and relax from thamel bustle and hustle.
