If you are located at the western end of Hruboskalsko, you can also visit the rock castle Valdštejn. Some people just need to get around it (and not pay the entrance fee, see a separate article), but even their own tour is quite interesting

The first courtyard

After crossing the famous Wallenstein Bridge with statues of patrons and passing through the gate, you will reach the first courtyard. Here is a classicist house with an eposition on the first floor.

View of the chapel of St. Jan Nepomucký

From the first courtyard there is also a nice view of the chapel of St. Jan Nepomucký and at the same time you can see how interesting the castle is exposed to the rocks.

The interior of the chapel of St. Jan Nepomucký

After crossing the second bridge and walking through a classicist house, you will get in front of the chapel of St. Jan Nepomucký. A tour of this chapel is also interesting. It is full of statues of patrons. These are the original versions of the ones you saw on the first bridge

Romantic staircase

From the chapel, continue along the romantic staircase to the oldest part of the castle. Be sure to peek into the tower in the foreground and go down the stairs to the room with models of the main monuments in the Bohemian Paradise

Room with models of monuments

After walking up the spiral staircase, you will get to a room with models of the largest monuments of the Bohemian Paradise, such as Hrubý Rohozec.

Romantic staircase on the other side

On the other side of the terrace there is a nice view back to this whole castle, which is long, but quite narrow.

Rock castle

At the very end, there are finally climbing frames, as on any good rock pit in the Bohemian Paradise.

View of Trosky and Hruboskalsko

Surprisingly, from the end of the castle there is also a nice view of the rock towers of Hruboskalsko and Trosky Castle in the background

View of Kozakov

There is also a nice view of the flat valley of the river Libuňka and the highest hill of the Bohemian Paradise – Kozákov
