Navets are small stone buildings with a tiny entrance. Their shape resembles an overturned ship. The first stone buildings were oval or round and were used for living. It was not until the time of the Talayotic culture that they began to stretch and were used for burials.

How to get to Naveta

Naveta d'Es Tudons is in the western part of the island, less than 5 km from Ciutadella, 200 meters south of the only main road. After paying the entrance fee, you can go up to see it and even take a look inside. The interior is inaccessible.

This tomb is the largest and best preserved tomb on the island of Menorca. It is one of the few archeologically researched navets on the island. It was used as an ossuary between 1200 and 750 BC In the lower part there were bones, in the upper floor the dead were dried. Bronze bracelets or bone and ceramic buttons were also found in the tomb, which are exhibited in the Museu de Menorca in Mahon.
