Castle above the river Zschopau
In the valley of the river Zschopau on the German side of the Ore Mountains you will find a number of nice castles. One of them is Scharfenstein, which is typical for its cylindrical tower towering over the snow-white palace. In addition, the long-distance hiking trail Zschopau Wanderweg leads below the castle

At Scharfenstein Castle
It is practically impossible to park right next to the castle, so leave your car down the hill and take a small hike. Perhaps the most beautiful view of it is from a small garden at the castle gate.
