Klokoci rocks towering high above the valley of river Jizera is unjustly neglected small rock town in the Czech Paradise. You can enjoy here not only adrenaline ascents (without rails) to the outlooks high above the ground, but also an interesting way to rock castle Rotstejn or the largest cave in the Czech Paradise – Postojna.

Zdencina skala (“Zdenka's rock”)

If you set out to Klokoci rocks from the west (from Turnov), you will encounter first the dead end detour to Zdenka's rock. Before you get here, you will see a lot of small rocky valleys around you. These are so called Bethlehem rocks. More adventurous tourists can climb down of the path and explore some of them. It is possible to see that ramblers sometimes sleep here and make fire in the summer.

View of the valley of Jizera

From Zdenka´s rocks is a beautiful view of the valley of Jizera making here meander between peaks Zbiroh (453 m asl) and Na Chocholce (400 m asl). In the distance is also visible the massive Kopaniny (657 m asl). The top plateau is as made for a break and snack. Below the rock is an outlook point (however limited due to the trees) to the other side of Turnov and castle Hruby Rohozec.

Klokoci rocks

Unlike other rock towns in the Czech Paradise you do not walk here below the rock towers and do not need to bend backwards, but you walk directly along their tops. Sandstone table separates in many places already here to individual towers.

Outlook balcony in Klokoci rocks

After a few hundred meters walk you finally come to the northern end of the sandstone table. Here begins very interesting part of the trip as individual rock towers protrude here several dozen meters above the surrounding terrain with views up to Jested or Cernostudnicní ridge. But you may be surprised, because there is no official path leading to all the outlooks and there is no railing, so everything is at your own risk.

The outlook over the treetops

Even high beeches with their tops are far below the lookout rocks (thankfully).

Adrenaline outlooks

Some outlooks have a bit adrenaline atmosphere and only tourists not suffering from vertigo or fear of heights should set out here.
