Circuit through the Maple Saw
Šumava is known as the lungs of Europe with the largest forest in Central Europe, which extends over the territory of three states. In the last week of February, the whole of the Czech Republic was struck by the Artistic Frost, which also affected Šumava. Part 3 and at the same time the last part of the art cross-country skis deals with the 17.5 km circuit from Rokyta to Tříjezerní slať via Jezerní saw and Modrava back to Rokyta.

It is possible to get to Rokyta by bus, which was my case. Here it is good to expect that there is no mechanically adjusted track, this can also be seen on the map, where there is a dashed blue line. The beginning and end of the trail leads around the Vchynice-Tetov canal, where it turns onto a long several-kilometer ascent to Tříjezerní Slať, where there was about 80 cm of snow. During that time, it's good that there are no cross-country skiers. Cross-country skiing trails start from this moor. There is a beautiful 500-meter descent to Javoří saw and there is a wonderful spectacle for cross-country skiers in the form of Javoří brook and then Roklanský brook, which stretches in a beautiful valley all the way to Modrava, there are really many cross-country skiers. With the arrival to Modrava, the only problem arises in the form of full restaurants, so it is good to be very nervous here. Here the cross-country skier has two options, where to go next. Buses run from Modrava back to Srní, including Rokyta, so the circuit should be 12 km or the circuit should be closed, a trail over Modrava and the plains on Rokyta. There are beautiful views of the landscape and at the same time very steep descents and ascents. I myself experienced beautiful very fast descents here. The final descent is over 1 km with a warning sign. Here I stopped and thought about my actions, when I saw a cross-country skier climbing up with cross-country skis on his shoulder. So I ask him, it probably doesn't make sense, does it? And he's on me, don't worry it's cool it's full of powder and occasionally sneak up. So I went in and said it would be fun. Yes, it really is necessary to sail, but I don't do much, so I really enjoyed this descent with a few tigers. From here it is only a short distance to Rokyta.
