A tour of the castle in Bahle

The city of Bahla is basically just a large development around the road number 21. The fortress is located next to the road and there is a large parking lot. In the early evening, the fortress is beautifully lit by the late sun, unfortunately it is already closed at this time. So it pays to walk around at least the surrounding old town and wait for the next day.

The interior of the castle is really large and practically without shadow, so before you see everything here, you will enjoy the Omani sun to the full.

The castle has a perfect view in all directions. Next door is the remains of the old town. Unlike beautifully restored castles, old houses are almost everywhere on the verge of destruction

To the south of the city you can see the monumental gate – Bahla gate, where it is also worth stopping at least for a while

If you are lucky that the haze will not be too great, you will see the highest mountain in Oman, Djebel Shams, on the northern horizon.

An hour will not be enough for you to walk through the whole castle.
