Makalu Barun National Park

To the east of the tourist-visited Sagarmatha National Park, around the world's highest mountain Everest, you will find the wild Makalu Barun National Park. It lies north of the mighty mountain river Arun around Makalu mountain (8,485 m above sea level) and Barun mountain tse (7,075 m above sea level). The famous Great Himalayan Trail leads through the national park, leading here through two difficult passes Sherpani Col (6110 m) and West Col (6135 m)
