Doğubeyazıt has a population of about one hundred thousand and is located in the very east of Turkey. The person himself would not be so interesting, but travelers are attracted here for three reasons – right next to it lies the Agri Dagi National Park with the biblical mountain Ararat (5,095 m above sea level). Just a few kilometers outside the city is the magnificent Ishak Pasha Palace. The third reason is the border crossing to Iran, so this city lies on the famous travel land route Europe – India
