Čáslav is a small town located about 10 km southeast of Kutná Hora. It was founded in 1264 and the city center has retained its ancient character, and therefore the historic core of the city was declared a city monument zone. The town is strongly connected with the Hussite movement and the figure of Jan Žižka.
