The Armenian Highlands occupy a large part of Eastern Turkey and almost all of Armenia. This mountain range is of volcanic origin, so here you will find a number of volcanoes, including the highest mountain Ararat (5,165m) on the Turkish side or Aragac (4,095m) on the Armenian side.
