Castle on the top of rocks
Because the castle Hrubá Skála is built atop a 60 meter-high sandstone cliffs, it is visible from far away indeed. Mainly from valley of Libuňka river, through which leads the main road between Jičín and Turnov. The castle is dominated by the tower (the ascent is charched). In the courtyard of the castle you get across the bridge with Baroque statues, which bridge deep rock valley. Next to the castle is the Church of St. Joseph and climbing center. Castle Hrubá Skála is the best starting point througout the entire Hruboskalsko.
