The timber road connecting Špindlerův Mlýn with the hut near Bílý Labe and further leading to Špindlerův Mlýn is not one of the busiest tourist routes. At the same time, it offers beautiful views of Medvědín, the Elbe Mine, as well as the main Krkonoše ridge. Definitely worth a walk.

Ascent to the ridge

Similar to the hike on „Výrovka“: https: //www.gigaplaces.com/clanek-tura-spindleruv-mlyn-vyrovka/, or on „Luční bouda“: https: //www.gigaplaces.com/clanek-tura -spindleruv-mlyn-lucni-bouda / a steep ascent from the center of Špindlerův Mlýn to the ridge awaits you. The Medvědín hill can be seen nicely from the roads

View of Žalská rozsocha

At the gazebo we disconnect from the main hiking trails and along the yellow trail we disappear into the forest. Fortunately, the views of the surrounding hills often await us. From the beginning you can see mainly the slopes above Špindlerův Mlýn.

View of the Elbe mine

The actual path only rises slowly, so the meters run off quickly. The views of Medvědín are soon replaced by a great view directly into the Elbe mine enclosed by the Golden Hill and the High Wheel.

High Wheel, the dominant feature of the horizon

When you go on this hike in the old summer, you can enjoy the beautifully colored mixed forests in the lower parts of the mountains. The meadows around the mountain cottages are very picturesque.

View of the Silesian saddle

After about an hour's walk from Špindlerův Mlýn, you will reach a great view. The road turns sharply here and continues east.

Picturesque view of the Giant Mountains

The view from here is really picturesque. Thanks to the table and bench, it is also an ideal place for a snack.

Road over Bílý Labem

The road still rises slowly and the valley of the White Elbe lies below you. The views are mainly to Malý Šišák – a mountain to which the road does not officially lead.

View of the White Elbe cottage

The path climbs to about 1,100 m above sea level and then about 100 meters of altitude awaits you to the White Elbe hut. The flat Devil's Hill (1,471 m above sea level) is located directly on the cottage.

View of the White Elbe Valley

Before you go into the deep forest, a beautiful view of the White Elbe Valley and the main Krkonoše ridge opens up before you.

Descent to the White Elbe hut

In several places, the sidewalk is really interesting and it probably gave a nice job to build it. Enjoy the last moment of peace, when you will meet only a few tourists, because down in the valley of the White Elbe will be head to head.

Where further from the White Elbe hut?

The easiest option is to descend around the Bílý Labe waterfalls back to Špindlerův Mlýn. It is also possible to climb Špindlerův Mlýn and get to the main ridge. Or ascend to Luční bouda and return via Kozí hřbiny.
