Waldsassen Monastery is a Cistercian monastery in the Bavarian town of Waldsassen. In the Middle Ages it belonged to the so-called Cheb region.

Waldsassen Monastery

In 1571, the monastery was abolished. The restoration took place in 1669, when a priory was established here and the Waldsessen monastery returned to the status of an abbey in 1690. In 1803 the male monastery was abolished and from 1863 there are Cistercians.
