The educational trail through the Zádiel Strait is a moderately demanding hike, which begins and ends in the parking lot in the village of Zádiel at the entrance to the Zádiel Strait. In addition to the route, there are also educational panels that talk about the natural conditions in the area. The route first passes through a paved road in the valley of the Zádielská gorge and at the end of the gorge it climbs through the forest to the top of the gorge. The route then passes through meadows and forests with several lookout points and finally descends to the parking lot to the mouth of the gorge.

Entrance to the gorge

At the entrance to the gorge there is a parking lot and a small buffet, where you can relax in the shade after hiking, or recharge your batteries before entering the nature trail. Parking at the entrance is charged and in case of nice weekend weather it is possible that in later hours it will not be possible to park there and it will be necessary to park somewhere in the village.

The bottom of the gorge

During the first part of the tour, the route passes along a watercourse on a paved road, and in case you decide to go back on the same route, it is possible to cross the route by bicycle, or a large part of the route with a pram.

Mysterious valley

If you go hiking in the morning, there is a good chance that you will be alone in the distress, or you will meet a minimum of people.

Information panels

Throughout the trip, there are information panels that inform about the natural conditions that are unique in this area.

Climb to the top

At the end of the gorge, it is necessary to climb to the top along a forest path that offers several views.

View from the top

The view from the top is definitely worth it and shows us a large part of the Gorge in the palm of your hand. In addition to the viewpoint at the top, there is another interesting viewpoint along the forest path with a nice view of the entire gorge and its surroundings.

Meadows

At the top, the path passes not only through the forest, but also through meadows, where you can see traces of grazing.

View of the Slovak Karst

The view is interesting not only towards the Bodvian Uplands, but also towards the Slovak Karst.

Conclusion

Finally, it is necessary to descend back to the parking lot. The descent itself takes about 30 minutes and offers several nice views of the western part of the Bodvian Hills. In case you set off in such a way that you would be at the top around 2 pm, I recommend going in the opposite direction so that you are not at the top in the greatest heat, but on the contrary in the distress.
