Ascent to the highest peak of Adršpach
The stork (786 m above sea level) is the highest peak of the Adršpach-Teplice rocks. Thanks to the lookout tower built in 2014, it also offers a perfect circular view of the Sudetenland, including Sněžka and Ostaš.
U Teplických skal
The shortest ascent to Čápa leads from the settlement of Skály, you can also go to it within a longer circuit, for example from Teplice Rocks. From them I set off on a yellow hiking trail. After a few tens of meters I was like in another world – the crowds disappeared and no one was anywhere.
Under the rock wall
Right at the beginning, you will almost turn your head at a vertical rock wall jutting right next to the hiking trail
At the crossroads Pod Bludištěm
The short, yellow-marked route ends at the crossroads Pod Bludištěm. From here, the green sign leads either steeply uphill, to the well-known Lokomotiva formation, or by a gradual forest road – this is our case
Ascent to the ridge
Almost a kilometer and a half is not a lively journey. This will change in places where the tourist sign leaves the forest path and rises perpendicular to the ridge. Nice stairs await you here

The staircase is really quite photogenic. Count 70 meters above sea level from the forest road to the ridge.

So we are finally on the highest peak of the Adršpach-Teplice Rocks – on Čáp (786 m above sea level). Those who have not been here for a few years will be surprised by the lookout tower built only in 2014. Admission is not collected here.

From the lookout tower you can see the original lookout point, just a little below the top of Čáp

Through the forest you can see the core of the Teplice Rocks with dozens of rock towers. Křížový vrch can also be seen on the horizon (667 m above sea level)

To the south you will see the ridge of the Jestřebí Mountains, on the ridge of which a defensive line of bunkers was built

Further south can be seen the long ridge of the Eagle Mountains
View of the Rocks and Ostas
The view to the east of the small rock town of Skály and the table mountain Ostaš (700 m above sea level) is beautiful. We will descend from Čáp in that direction.
Rock Gate under the Stork
After getting up with magnificent views from the top of Čáp, we descend through the rock gate to the settlement of Skály
Cottage settlement Skály
After leaving the forest, you will come across a fairly large cottage settlement. If you are in a hurry you can leave the tourist sign and continue to Teplice nad Metují along the bike path
Descent to the Rock
The road descends along a carriageway around several cottages to the settlement of Skály, where this crossing ends. Here you can refresh yourself in the castle restaurant, go to the rock castle Skály or continue to Ostaš or Teplice nad Metují
