A tour of the Holy Mountain near Příbram

A trip to the Holy Mountain cannot be started better than climbing the Svatohorské Stairs. The entrance is relatively inconspicuous at the end of V Brance alley

Svatohorské stairs is one of the attractions of this trip – a 500 meter long covered corridor with 343 steps. If you go here alone, it has a pretty scary atmosphere. About halfway through, the only way to leave the stairs

Stairs from the hill with a limited view of Příbram

Just before the end of the stairs is another opportunity to get in and out and go straight to the chapel. In each of the corners of this pavilion you will find an interesting chapel. The first one you come across is the Chapel of St. Mary Magdalene or also the Pilsen Chapel. This looks like a cave

If you proceed from the chapel along the wall, you will soon come to a side entrance to the center of the complex.

However, before you enter, it is better to walk a few tens of meters to Mariánská studánka, or you can bypass the entire Stations of the Cross in its vicinity

The most beautiful view of the Holy Mountain is from the places in front of the main entrance

There is also a limited view of the Brd ridge

When you enter the complex (entrance fee is not paid here) you will certainly be captivated by the small but really beautiful Basilica of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary standing right in the middle

The interior is really incredibly decorated – sculptures, paintings, frescoes, just everything down to the smallest detail. Those who like the Baroque style will definitely enjoy it here

After the tour of the interior, do not forget to climb a few meters to the hill next door – from here there is a really beautiful panoramic view of the whole area

Back to the center of Příbram, this time follow the red tourist sign leading for a while through a nice alley
