After the conquest by the Americans in 1847, the city was given this name. The city has about 1 million inhabitants. It is a very popular destination and has a lot to offer. Places such as Golden Gate, Alcatraz, Lombard Street, Pyradmid, Chine Town, Fish Market, Coit Tower and, last but not least, the Twin Peaks lookout point with a beautiful view of the whole city and Downtown. For myself I say I like it more than Los Angeles.
