Brdy is a rugged highland in Central Bohemia stretching from Prague's Zbraslav towards Rokycany. The highest peak of Brd is Tok (865 m above sea level), the second highest mountain is Prague (862 m above sea level). The most famous peak in Brdy is Plešivec (654 m above sea level). The southern part is and was normally accessible to tourists and very popular due to its location near the capital. part was closed to the public. After the military district ceased to exist, the whole area (except for a small part) was opened to the public in January 2016. The area of the former military district is interwoven with hundreds of kilometers of paved roads inviting to bike rides or comfortable walking.
