The eastern side of the Fitz Roy massif is drained by the picturesque Rio de las Vueltas. The other side of the valley is held by the ridge of the small Cordon de los Cóndores mountain range, where no hiking trail leads, and at the same time it could serve as a great view of the main Andean ridge. The river continues to the huge lake Lago Viedma.
