Mughal emperors ruled their empire from the Red Fort in central Delhi for more than two hundred years. This fort built of red stone, under which it is named, used to protect the picturesque pavilions and monarch gardens. Today it is a popular stop for almost all tourists who come to Delhi. In addition, right next is another attraction – beautiful Jama Mosque and a bustling market.

Impressive Lahaure gate

After you manage to cross extremely busy road separating the old town from the large complex of The Red Fort, you will finally be able to see the impressive entrance gate enhanced by several bastions. Basically, it is a complex of three gates, which made very difficult for a potential enemy to enter the town.

Fairytale battlements

If you want to walk along the walls, you will probably not get very far, because local police officers do not like to see it for some reason. Anyway, the views straight up to the Lahaure gate are also worth seeing.

Naubat Khana

Naubat Khana also called as the House of drums or musicians by daily musical performances, which used to took place here at the time of Mughal emperors. Nowadays there is a small but quite interesting „Indian War Memorial Museum“, the visit of which is already included in the price of tickets to the entire area of Red Fort.
