The Jewish community in Mariánské Lázně already existed in 1824. From 1861 it had a hospital with a prayer room. The Jewish cemetery by the road in the direction of Velká Hleďsebe was founded in 1875.

The Jewish cemetery in Mariánské Lázně is located at the exit from Mariánské Lázně in the direction of Velká Hleďseba. In front of the railway bridge that crosses the main road, you will find a turnoff on the right into the forest. It is possible to come along the asphalt road in front of the main entrance of the Jewish cemetery.

Among others, the founder of the local Balneological Research Institute, prof. dr. Enoch Heinrich Kisch (1841–1918) and the German philosopher and anti-fascist prof. dr. Theodor Lessing (1872–1933), shot by the Nazis in Mariánské Lázně on August 30, 1933.
