Hike Concordia - Ali camp

Not only sunsets, but also mornings are amazing at Concordia, especially when the weather is favourable. But there is no other choice but to pack the baggage and proceed to the Ali camp in the Vigne valley. The path is now more complicated and even a guide with porters have sometimes problems in finding the ideal way through small rivers, cracks and canyons in a glacier.

There is no point of view that would be uninteresting around Concrodia.

The most important is to find a way from the Upper Baltoro Glacier to the glacier Vigne.

The path is more than obvious after “boarding” the Vigne glacier, but it is necessary to watch for cracks all the time.

The path along the glacier rises slowly – outlook is still very wide at the beginning. As the valley proceeds deeper, the outlook is closing slowly.

Because of hidden cracks it is better to be tied on the rope.

Finally, smaller side valley appears, through which you rise on the final ascent to the Gondogoro pass. Ali camp is practically right at the beginning of the small valley.

Ali camp is basically situated on a pile of debris – probably on the remains of a small landslide.

Ali camp is very harsh and cold place – just a few cleaned small places for tents. There are not many things to do, but there is also not even mood to do anything in almost five thousand. So most people just sleep in tents and have a rest before the hard day lasting crossing of Gondogoro pass.

Views of the jagged peaks are not bad at all.

A pleasant early evening mood – however, if you can say that about the stay in Ali camp :-)
