Ferrata in NP Gesäusee
The surroundings of Eisenerz offer several beautiful ferratas and climbing routes. In this article, I will introduce you – from my point of view – to the simplest local ferrata (difficulty C / D), which is unique in that it offers a view of both local landmarks at the same time – the quarry and the lake.
Eisenerzer Klettersteig - boarding
C / D, 300 altitude meters, about 2-3 hours of climbing, about 2 hours of boarding
To get on, take the turn to the „Polizei“ sign at Eisenerz and continue on your way as far as you can. Before entering the forest there is a small parking lot and, if I remember correctly, a spring of water.
Parking
Follow the asphalt road to the gravel parking lot, then you have to walk, across the meadow along the forest road, along the homestead to the signpost. At it, turn left along the marked path and follow the coordinates from the enclosed prospectus or local signs.
Prospects
during a long and steep onset, we at least make love
Snow field
we are approaching the onset and cooling with snow will come in handy
Here we go
We are here alone, which will please me, so tie the shoelaces and we can go
Beginning
Right at the beginning is C / D, but it's only a short section and then it's more of a simple walker :)

outlooks
Pfaffenstein 1865m
The whole ascent ends with the top of Pfaffenstein, 1865 m, which is only a few minutes away from the last rope. Then cross the secured Markussteig road (A / B, road 825) back down.
Descent
Along the way we have a lake in the palm of our hand and from a distance we can also take a look at Franz Joseph and Rossloch.

Conclusion
a little snow in our shoes no longer throws us away, so we declare the event a success and go to the lake for a beer :)
