The Glacier Park was founded in the US in 1910 (smaller part of this area lies in Canadian Alberta – here is called Waterton Lakes NP). It is a true paradise for alpine tourism. There are 1127 km of hiking trails. In the mid-19th century they counted 150 glaciers, now only a sixth remained. The historic road „Going to the Sun Road“ passes through the park.
