The over 20 km long route from Skógar through the Fimmvörðuháls pass, between the Eyjafjallajökull and Mýrdalsjökull glaciers, and then down the other side to Ϸórsmörk, is a really pleasant and beautiful route thanks to the surrounding landscape and relative accessibility. The highest point on the route is the Fimmvörðuháls pass (1043m) with the Fimmvörðuskáli mountain hut.
