The beautiful Lake Frostastaðavatn lies on the edge of the Námshraun lava field, near the rift interface in the outskirts of Landmannalaugár. Fjallabak runs past it, an unpaved inland road that ends in a campsite at the „Rainbow Mountains“. Locals like to go trout fishing here.
