Purana Qila = Old fort from the 16th century is located just a few hundred meters to the east of India Gate. Although it is not one of the biggest tourist blockbuster in Delhi – after all, not much of it is preserved, but even so it is still worth a visit. Worth seeing is certainly impressive western gateway Bara Darwaza, mosque Qila-i-Kuhna and interesting building of private Humayun's library.

West Gate - Bara Darwaza

The entrance to the fort is really impressive. Two massive bastions encircle the gateway made of a red stone.

Hoopoes

Very interesting are here the hoopoes looking around for some goodies.

If you have a little more time, you can go to the pool before the fort (in the northwest direction), where you can ride a pedal boat and take in the views of the walls of the fort.
