Meeting of Europe and America
Pingvellir National Park is known for two reasons: 1) in 930, the world's first parliament was established here; 2) it is possible to walk around the place where the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates „meet“. The place is one of the first stops on the Golden Ring of Iceland, so there is a huge number of tourists, especially during the summer months.

Approximately 1.5 kilometers pass from the initial parking lot to the waterfall, which is located at the end of the break.

Mini waterfall
About halfway there is such a small waterfall, which flows under the sidewalk. In the winter months, it is not possible to cross the whole here and about 50% of the sidewalks are closed.
Waterfall
The waterfall located at the end of the sidewalk creates beautiful ice formations in its surroundings.

The weather in Iceland during the winter months can change from minute to minute and can bring a snowstorm, which can be particularly unpleasant due to the combination of strong wind and snow.
