Although the trek ends by coming to Hushe, a long way back to Skardu in an off road vehicle still awaits you. Along the way are nice views of the wild valley of river Hushe, awaits you the journey in the wide valley of Shyok and worth seeing is also the palace in Khaplu.

Wild gorge

The beginning of the way is interesting. The narrow dusty road leads over a wild gorge. In every flat place is naturally a field – every appropriate place must be utilized in such an inhospitable landscape.

Khaplu

Just a few kilometers downstream Shyok is a historic town Khaplu with a nice palace. Here it is worth a tour for at least half a day, if you want to get to the outlook place to the castle high in the mountains above the town.
