St. Basil's Cathedral Mark is the main church and one of the most important monuments of Venice and Italy. Today it is probably the best preserved example of Byzantine architecture. It is located on Saint Mark's Square next to the Doge's Palace. The basilica hase about 1000 years old core, with five domes, arches and windows decorated with a tracery, and with stunning interiors is rightly one of the most beautiful medieval buildings in the world.
