The highest peak of the Berchtesgaden Alps
Hochkönig (2,941m above sea level) is the highest peak of the Berchtesgaden Alps and only a few meters below the much more famous Dachstein. The impressive view of it is mainly from the south, where up to a kilometer high perpendicular walls of this massif are visible. To the north, it falls significantly more slowly into the alpine limestone plateau.
