Have Wolfgangsee in the palm of your hand
Mount Sparberg (1,502 m above sea level) is not exactly the highest compared to the surrounding peaks in the area of Lake Wolfgangsee, for that one has views of the whole region and I dare say that it is one of the most beautiful. They are especially illustrated by the colors of the lake, which is just below the top.
Exit point
It starts in the parking lot at Streichelzoo, where they have wild animals in the enclosure
Meadow under the peak
The path from Streichelzoo leads almost straight up and does not change until it ascends through the pasture with a mountain hut. Here open the first views of the region and the top, which seems to be within reach
Seat
Before I get to the saddle, I will go around the hill nicely, because only a climbing path would lead up.
Steel ropes and ladders
Passages begin from the saddle, where I catch steel ropes and overcome the most difficult sections on the ladder. This part is quite airy, because the road is just for one. On one side the rock and on the other side it falls almost vertically down
Top part
Here you just have to manage a rocky ridge and I'm on top of the mountain Sparberg 1502m. There is plenty of space upstairs, there is a wooden cross with a top book, like on all Austrian peaks.
Top
From the top there are wonderful views of the whole area, which is dominated by the peak of Shafberg 1780m below which lies Lake Wolfgangsee
Butterflies
in the top part I am lucky to see the fennel Otakárek butterfly
Gentian
Thanks to the calcareous terrain, the Hořka hory begin to bloom here in May
Way back
the way back leads the same route as up
