Or rather hiking instead of the beach
Alcaufar is a small inconspicuous town on the coast of Menorca. In general, it can be classified as uninteresting. In this case, however, it can be said that the journey was the destination, as the experience was the walk itself.
Punta Prima
Our walk started in the resort of Punta Prima. Here the path follows the coast.
Changing coast
The coast here is very changeable and changes every few meters.
Horse trail
We follow the so-called Cami de cavallis, horse path. This is a trail leading around the entire perimeter of the island. The terrain is also quite rugged. It takes longer than one would expect to walk even a short distance here. Even the heat here won't add to your speed.
Torre de Alcaufar
Along the way we pass one of the small coastal forts.
Cave
A strange rumbling of water can be heard in places. These are eroded banks where the water hits the walls of the caves.
View of the city
From the fortress we can enjoy the view of Alcaufar.
Cala Roig
Along the way, we will pass the tiny bay of Cala Roig. Access to the water here is very limited, but not impossible.
Alcaufar beach
Even the town of Alcaufar has its own small bay and beach.
