Among the most attractive beaches on the island of Milos belongs for sure Firiplaka beach lying below high multicolored volcanic reef. It attracts thanks to its beauty lots of tourists despite the fact that the final downhill drive leads along a dusty gravel road. In the afternoon you can have a problem to park here. It is therefore ideal to arrive here in the morning, when the cliffs are beautifully lit by the sun and abounds with all colors.

First look at Firiplaka

Already the first glance at the bay will captivate you – huge colorful reef and beaches split by rocks are really beautiful. On the horizon is like from almost all places on the island visible the highest mountain Profitis Elias (748 m asl).

The main beach

After you go down the hill along the gravel road and park (with a little luck), you will see another nice view of the entire bay (see the introductory photo in the photoreport). From here you will walk for another 100 meters before you reach the main beach, which was not almost visible from the first hill. There is also a small tavern and the possibility to rent parasols and sun loungers.

Firiplaka

The main beach is for nearly 200 meters free and there is plenty of space also for those who do not want to use the „organized“ beach. However, you must reckon with the fact that as in every beach in the south of the island there are a little bigger waves, so the beach is not very suitable for example for small children.

Volcanic rock

Even if you'd rather just relax on the beach, it is worth here to do at least a short walk from the beach. away along the coast. So you can at least see the pretty rocks and colored volcanic reef.

In some places plays the volcanic reef with all colors.

Volcanic coast

The coast below the cliff is quite rocky, so it is really suitable only for walking rather than for swimming.
