September ascent to the highest mountain in North Africa
Jebel Toubkal is with its 4167m the highest mountain in Morocco and North Africa. It is an undemanding ascent over 4000m. There are numerous stops along the way, where they make fresh juice from just squeezed oranges and at an altitude of 3200 m there are mountain huts, which provide accommodation, food and places for tents. From the cottage it is then to the top about 900m climb in the rubble.
Route description
It should be borne in mind that since the incident that took place there, the ascent to Jebel Toubkal is only accessible with a local guide, but it has a uniform price, so the more you go the better. Several expeditions go to Toubkal every day, so you will definitely not feel alone. The output is technically light. The road, although still rising, leads along a well-trodden path, sometimes we pass mules that supply huts. It is necessary to take into account the elevation, when the initial settlement Imlil lies 1800m, the cottage Muflons and Toubkal lies 3200m. This difference is overcome in one day. The next day he goes to the top and back to Imlil. There are people who climb to the top in 1 day, but that's a different league. We went in September, the weather was nice and the temperature at the top was around zero, it was blowing a lot. The ascent path is the same for the descent, but if you intend to stay, there are countless routes leading through the High Atlas from the cottage.
