Rock town above Jizera
The rock town of Drábovna is one of the lesser-known and most visited rock towns in the Bohemian Paradise. The center of this rock town is the eponymous rock castle Drábovna. In addition, you will see two very nice views of both the Jizera and Mala Skala, including the famous Pantheon. Most tourists visit this small rock town as part of the march from Turnov / Hrubý Rohozec to the famous rock town Frýdštejn.
Kissing rocks
We start our tour of the rock town of Drábovna at the settlement of Borek, where you can get along the red tourist trail from Dolánky (respectively from Turnov or from the Hrubý Rohozec chateau). The road disappears into the forest, climbs and in a moment you will see the first rock formations.
Jizera Viewpoint
The first attraction of this tour is the Jizera Viewpoint overlooking the river canyon below you. The ruins, a symbol of the Bohemian Paradise, are nicely visible on the horizon.
View of Dry Rocks
The window between the branches of mature trees is a nice view of the Dolomite Suché skály and the Giant Mountains on the horizon.
Gazebo at a crossroads
Directly at the turn to the rock castle Drábovna is also this shelter, where you can survive the times or use it as a bivouac
Inside the rocks
It is only a few tens of meters walk from the turnoff to the interior of the rock town of Drábovna.
Drábovna
The woodworks is accessible by steep sandstone steps. Unlike other rock castles of the Bohemian Paradise, however, it is not so large.
Path through the rock town
After returning back to the main red route, after a while you will reach a picturesque wooden path leading through the local rock town. After a while, you will come across a blue-marked turn to Malá Skála, but it is better to continue along the red to another interesting viewpoint.
Wonderful view of the Pantheon
Right next to the highest point of the rock town, when the red trail begins to descend, turn onto a footpath and after a few tens of meters you are on the edge of a rock massif with a great view of the Pantheon, Frýdštejn and Suché skály. Jizera is disappearing deep below you. It's a coincidence why the official road doesn't come here.
